Pierre Teilhard de Chardin “Love”

I got inspired yesterday during Bishop Michael Curry’s prayer (transcript) (video) for the wedding of Prince Harry.

He refers to French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin whom I had never heard of.

Pierre fought in 44 battles during the first world war in a battalion mainly made of Muslims.

He took refuge in China for 20 years and discovered Homo Erectus 700,000 old “Pekin Man” and then took refuge in NY.

His thoughts in a few words and rare images LNA website

“The age of the nation is past.”

“Love is the bloodstream of evolution”

“Love is not just a sentiment, it is a way of life, the bloodstream of evolution, the next revolution after the fire one”

In his book, the Human Phenomena (which I am to read), he refers to us as getting closer to an ultra human, more conscious and he deducts closer to God

As Jean Guitton said “Little science takes us away from God, a lot get us closer to it” I begin to tell myself that he read Pierre Teilhard …

"The age of nation is past. The task before us now, is we would wish not to perish, is to build the earth"
